A star for The Inn Between!

I’m very excited (and a bit anxious) as reviews for The Inn Between begin to trickle in. Of course, not everyone enjoys the same sort of story or connects with each author’s writing style, but so far, the response has put a huge smile on my face.

I was thrilled when the novel received a nice review in School Library Journal. “VERDICT A suspenseful mystery with darker themes making it suitable for an upper elementary to middle school audience.”

And I was ecstatic when it received a starred review in Kirkus. “Cohen’s emotionally gripping tale perfectly captures the essences of friendship and sibling love. Heavy themes are handled with sensitivity, offering a cathartic experience for readers who may be dealing with similar situations.”

When a young reviewer emailed me directly to say, “Suffice it to say, I’ve read in between and it is amazing. I love your descriptions. I sat down maybe twice with this book and just finished it. I could not stop reading it. I love the book.” I thought to myself, yes–this is why I write.
